The student delegation of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv took part in the work of the Warsaw Security Forum.

An important event with the participation of leading world political leaders and representatives of the security and defense industry took place in early October 2021.

Students of the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University, in particular, graduate student Mykola Volkivsky and chairman of the Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philosophy Artem Oliynyk, expressed the interests of the university community at this international meeting. According to both Ukrainian students, an event of this magnitude is incredibly valuable given the number of political leaders present and the opportunity to establish important international ties for further institutional cooperation. In particular, this year the Forum participants had the opportunity to listen to speeches by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovs and former President in Europe, General Filip Bridlov, former CIA Director David Petraeus, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Tschaskowski, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid and many others.

During panel discussions and informal meetings, students of the Taras Shevchenko National University spoke with more than 50 interested representatives of international institutions from Germany, Israel, the United States, Finland, Bulgaria and Portugal. It is expected that study visits will be organized later to present opportunities for cooperation with these foreign organizations at the Taras Shevchenko National University. According to Artem Oliynyk, the student delegation tried to convey to the participants of the Warsaw Security Forum that “Europe’s security depends on Ukraine’s immediate security, so Ukrainian citizens want to make the security sector a priority of domestic policy; the community of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is able to become a think tank for developing the main provisions of the new strategy in a changing world. “

The scientific and pedagogical staff of the University is proud of the ambition of the plans of its students and sincerely wishes them to realize their plans!
