Political science students presented Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv at the regular framework meeting of G20 ministers in Italy.
Mykola Volkivskyi, a graduate student of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Philosophy, and Artem Oliynyk, Chairman of the Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philosophy, represented the KNU summit. According to the organizers, Artem became the youngest accredited participant of the meeting during its entire holding.
During the event, issues of economic growth, issues of international security, innovation, preservation of cultural heritage, economic recovery after the pandemic, etc. were raised.
Communications with diplomatic delegations, leading politicians and heads of world organizations took place at the Palazzo Barberini in Rome. Speakers included Secretary General of Interpol Jurgen Stock, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Gada Vali and others.
The meeting of the ministers resulted in the signing of the Rome Declaration, which approved the vector of activities in the field of culture and reaffirmed the intention to promote cultural security and preserve the common heritage of civilization.
The participation of students in such events can strengthen the reputation of the University at the international level.
